Counseling practice
Four pages for a one-counselor practice in Stockbridge, Edinburgh: the fee and session length on the home page, a sessions page that walks from the free introductory call to regular appointments and states confidentiality in two sentences, a first-person about page with a list of what the counselor will not do, and an inquiry form that asks only for a name, an email and whether someone would rather meet in person or online. The design, the writing and the images all came from the brief below.

One calm screen says what this is: counselling for adults, in Stockbridge or online, with one counsellor. Say plainly who it is for and that the first call is free and carries no obligation. The fee and session length stated on this page. One photograph of the room. End with a clear route to asking about a first call.

What actually happens: the free 15-minute call, then 50-minute sessions at £55, weekly or fortnightly, in person or online. What a first session is like for someone who has never done this. How many sessions people tend to have, stated honestly as 'it varies' rather than a number. The hours: daytime Monday to Friday, evenings Tuesday and Thursday. Confidentiality explained in two plain sentences, including that there are limits and the first call explains them. No packages, no bundles, no tiers.

Who the counsellor is and how they work, written in first person. Specific and human: how they were trained, what kind of things people bring, why the room is set up the way it is, what they will and will not do (they will not tell you what to do). Accredited and insured, stated once and plainly. One portrait, unposed, and one photograph of the room.

The enquiry form: name, email, whether they would prefer in person or online, and a free-text field with a note that they need not explain anything yet. State plainly that enquiries are answered within two working days and that the first call is free. The address as text with a line on finding the door from Stockbridge's main street, the hours, and the phone number.
