Copperleaf Coffee: a coffee shop website, built from one brief.

Four pages for an independent Bristol café: the food and drinks menu with prices, opening hours on every page, how to find the place on foot and by bus, and a walk-ins-only policy stated plainly instead of a booking system. The design, the copy and the photographs were all produced from the brief below, then published to the web.

What the builder was given.

What was asked for, and what came back.

Asked for
What the place is in one line, opening hours, and where it is. Photographs of the room, the coffee and the food. A short section on the brunch menu with a route to the full one. Make it obvious this is walk-in and there is nothing to book.

Asked for
The full menu with real prices: coffee (flat white £3.40, filter £3.00, cortado £3.20, hot chocolate £3.60), brunch mains £9–£13 with four or five named dishes and a plain line of description each, and pastries. Note which milks are included at no extra charge and that the kitchen stops brunch at 2.30. No calorie tables, no allergen essay — a short line pointing people to ask staff.

About the place: who runs it, where the beans come from, why the menu is short. Specific and local. Photographs of the room and the counter. Keep it under three short sections.

Asked for
Address as text, how to find it on foot and by bus, opening hours in full, and an enquiry form for anything else (private hire, large groups, press). State clearly that tables cannot be booked and that walk-ins are the only way in.
