Architecture practice

Linden Fold Studio: An architecture practice website, built from one brief.

An architecture portfolio built around three self-initiated design studies. Plans and architectural imagery explain the ideas behind each space, while a studio introduction and feasibility process show visitors how to discuss a project.

The brief

The starting brief.

This brief guided the design and content. Compare its goals and details with the website and page previews below.

Purpose
Present residential design work and explain the process before inviting a project enquiry.
Audience
Cambridge homeowners considering an extension, internal reworking or a small new building.
Tone
A small residential architecture studio in Cambridge. Precise, thoughtful and quietly expressive. Let spaces, drawings and material studies tell the story, with a useful explanation for someone commissioning a project for the first time.
Key facts
  • Residential architecture and spatial design in Cambridge and nearby villages, with site visits arranged before a proposal.
  • Initial feasibility studies from £1,500. Scope, deliverables and fees are agreed in writing before work begins. Later design stages are quoted for the project.
  • Process: discuss the property and priorities, assess feasibility, develop the design, prepare the agreed documentation, and coordinate the agreed next stages.
  • Three self-initiated residential design studies: Fold House, a 35-square-metre rear extension with a deep timber window seat; Lantern Court, a 24-square-metre courtyard room organised around daylight; Long Room, a reworking of a 90-square-metre terraced-house ground floor with connected kitchen and living spaces. These are design studies, not built projects or approved planning applications.
  • Studio conversations and visits are by arrangement, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm.
